Blackboard Workshops

Presented by Academic Technology

Academic Technology will offer concurrent Blackboard workshops to full time and part time faculty.

All three sessions will be held concurrently during:

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM; 11:00AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

Once you begin the registration process, you will be able to select one or more sessions to attend.

Blackboard Basics (Room EC 207):
 
Are you new to Blackboard? In this one-hour session you will learn how to build your course and make it available, add a syllabus and upload course materials. You will also be introduced to basic course design and organization principles.
 
Please bring a working laptop.

Assessing with Blackboard (Room EC 212):
 
Would you like to save time collecting assignments or grading exams? In this session you will learn how to electronically distribute and collect projects, as well as have exams automatically graded and entered into a Blackboard grade book. To gain the most from this workshop it is recommended that you bring an existing assignment, project or exam that you would like to upload to Blackboard.
 
Please bring a working laptop.

Engaging with Blackboard (Room EC 214):
 
Are you looking for a way to expand class time and to encourage collaboration amongst your students? In this session you will learn how to leverage several tools in Blackboard, such as blogs and wikis, to create a student-centered learning experience. To gain the most from this workshop it is recommended that you bring an existing assignment, project or syllabus that you would like to redesign.
